Origa (Olga Yakovleva) was born in a small settlement in central Siberia but became famous in Japan - mostly as a performer of the theme song for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex:

While she was internationally known for this song only, she actually had a vast discography which is pretty good on average (even if I normally don't listen that much to things like j-pop, and don't watch anime nowadays). This song, for example, is even better than "Inner Universe" in my opinion:

Origa died from lung cancer right an year ago, on 17 January 2015. The last year was pretty shitty considering how many talented people have died: Lemmy Kilminster, Ian Murdock (while I never was a fan of Debian and Debian-based distributions, his death deserves attention for its strange circumstances) and many others, including Origa. Here's her song with lyrics that suit the moment quite well: "If I'll die, over (my) grave... shine, shine, my star!"
